No. The basic mechanics are fairly simple: the player chooses the direction, power and timing of the shot. However, to get good results you have to take into account the wind, terrain, ball spin and club stats.
Spin lets you change how the ball behaves after it lands. You can use Top Spin, Back Spin and Side Spin to better control the trajectory.
The game uses different types of clubs for different distances and situations. Clubs differ in power, accuracy, spin, curl and Ball Guide.
Ball Guide shows the expected direction of the ball after the first bounce. The higher the stat, the easier it is to plan tricky shots.
